Don’t let the bad reviews scare you! Sarah was super nice and put my mind at ease! She provided amazing service and made everything clear. Our Nissan Altima was clean, reliable, and incredibly fuel-efficient. The gas mileage was so good the needle barely moved. Just a heads-up: there’s a $200 deposit, but you get it back right when you drop the car off, based on Dollar.

I was a bit worried about renting at this location because of the bad reviews, but I needed a car as inexpensively as possible so what can you do? It started off a bit poorly because there was a huge line and it took nearly half an hour to get helped. Did I make a mistake? Well, it was a weekend at midday so maybe the fault was partially mine. Things turned around when we were helped by Sarah, who was a joy to work with. We made friendly conversation as we got everything signed (we're all Leos). I was worried that I was going to be hard-sold on extra crap i didn't need but nope, I was offerred it once, firmly declined it, and it wasn't brought up again. The only negative (a big one) was that I rented a mystery car and they attempted to inflict a Kia Soul on me, one of the ugliest cars in existence. It should be a fineable crime to drive one and the designers should be charged with a felony. Unfortunately, changing it carried additional cost which should have been waived since Dollar was basically committing a crime against humanity on me, but I digress. The new rental was clean, worked well, and got us to the lax airport without any hassle. No hidden gotcha fees after the fact either. So overall a great experience. Lose the Kia Souls though. They're named that because you lose your own soul if you are ever put in one.

We had a great experience with Dollar Car Rental. The whole rental process was smooth and stress-free, but what really made the difference was Sarah’s exceptional customer service. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful from the very beginning. Sarah took the time to answer all our questions, explained everything clearly, and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Her positive attitude and kindness turned what is usually just a standard car rental into a really pleasant experience. A big thank you to Sarah for going above and beyond customer service like this is rare and truly appreciated. We would definitely rent with Dollar again!

I had a fantastic experience with Dollar Rent A Car at the San Diego Airport. The entire process was incredibly quick and efficient, which made a big difference after traveling. The gentleman who assisted me was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely helpful. He made everything easy to understand and ensured I got exactly what I needed. The vehicle itself was excellent—clean, comfortable, and perfect for my travel needs. Overall, the service exceeded my expectations, and I would absolutely rent from Dollar again the next time I’m in San Diego.

I wish there were less than one star to give this place. This was my first and absolutely worst experience with a car rental company. From the moment I arrived, the staff—especially the woman I spoke with—was unhelpful, and extremely unprofessional. Instead of assisting me, she spoke with an attitude and made me feel as though I was doing her job for her by suggesting reasonable solutions myself. I had reserved an 8-passenger van, and during the online booking process, I selected debit card as my payment method. The system accepted my reservation without any warning or restriction. At no point on the website did it state that using a debit card would limit me to only a mini SUV. This rule was suddenly and rudely thrown at me in person by this disrespectful woman, which was both shocking and unacceptable. When I asked her to cancel my reservation, the situation escalated further. The same employee became even more hostile, and her coworkers joined in with the same dismissive and rude behavior. She refused to cancel my reservation, aggressively telling me to “do it online” without providing any guidance or instructions, knowing full well that I did not know how to do that. Their lack of cooperation and basic professionalism pushed the situation to the point where I felt provoked and forced to raise my voice just to be heard. This was by far the most negative, frustrating, and disrespectful customer service experience I have ever had with any rental company. Do NOT rent from this location. The staff is uncooperative, the policies are misleading, and the treatment of customers is unacceptable.
