SCAM ALERT – DO NOT RENT HERE We rented two cars from this agency and showed up on time for pickup, with all our luggage, ready to drive to Las Vegas. After booking and paying one month in advance, they told us they did NOT have our cars and had absolutely nothing to offer us. No solution. No alternative. Nothing. Completely unacceptable. The manager Harry and his staff were shockingly incompetent and unprofessional. No accountability, no effort to fix their mistake, and zero customer service!!!! We were left stranded at the last minute with no vehicle!!!! We went next door to Sixt, and they told us they receive customers every single day with the exact same issue from Avis. DO NOT RENT HERE. Avoid this place at all costs.

The worst customer service at all at this downtown location. The worst attitude of helping us to fix the problem. Do NOT rent/return from here. We were here attending a conference. We showed up to return the car before 5pm but the store window light/room light was off. It does show to return the car at the 5th floor. But when we drove into the garage path, there was no sign of Avis Return. What do you expect people know where to return the car when it was our first time to this city?! We called the Avis customer service right away, but were told this location close at 5 and we need to come back next day after 8am. We showed up at 8am next day as soon as they open. The lady in the front desk and the guy coming from the back room were the worst customer service we’ve even seen! So, the woman told us: we closed the store at 4:55. Then, a male came out of the back storage room: NO, we close at 5, I didn’t leave until 5:10. And kept repeating himself that they close at 5, he was here at 5:10. We did not have any pictures or evidence as we should’ve. Too much trust of this company and didn’t expect that’s how they treat customers. They didn’t offer us any return receipt or ask for the fuel level, mileage, nor our renting agreement. Only took the key. After all, we don’t know how much we will be charged for extra because of their early leaving fault. We ended have to pay $72 for parking in the hotel for the night as we didn’t plan to. Besides, the attitude and the way they communicated with us really made us feel that’s a “routine” that how they fraud their customers. And we believe we were not the first one that had this situation happened to us. Refused to admin that they left early, and no efforts to fix the problem. (The staff at the airport location was wonderful)

We rented a car from Avis for 4 days. On the third day, we went to Las Vegas. On the morning of the fourth day (Sunday), we called the office to ask for guidance on how to return the car, because we wanted to drive back from Las Vegas calmly and without stress. However, the receptionist told us that we absolutely had to be at the office by 1 PM to return the car. Because of that, we rushed the entire way back, which caused us a lot of stress. Later, one of their helpful staff members (an Indian gentleman) told us that they actually have a key drop box, and we could have returned the car without any rush. Unfortunately, the receptionist gave us incorrect information and made our trip stressful and unpleasant. In my opinion, unless it’s necessary, I would not recommend renting from this company, as this kind of experience can really ruin your trip.

I rented a toyota Corolla or camry (either or)but the car they gave me was broken (check engine), so I went back to the front desk and they need to redo all the process again. They just waisted my time. And this is the 2nd time tbh, the 1st was aug 2025 when we went to colorado and they gave us electric car but we didnt want an electric car. Made us pay $100 for charging the car. So we needed to return the car again ON OUR VACATION and waisted our time. Back to recent car rental, i only used the car for 21 miles and the gas line of the car was even full and I asked the front desk if I still need to refill the gas, the front desk name is either john or desantiago (according to the receipt) says yes and I will be fined $20 for tank refill. Are you guys serious? Thats like a galloon already. Avis employee cant give us a leeway for that? Your employees are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL too, never say hi or greets good morning, or even smile. And how about the inconvenience that the company did? Did I charge you for wasting my time keep going back and forth cuz your car are broken? How about the ruined travel plan with my husband because you guys gave us electric car in colorado? No compensation too? Everytime I rent car in your company, you guys charge me for something/theres always an issue. But everytime I borrowed a car, you guys give me car that has issues too. Will never ever rent a car in your company ever again, its obviously that you guys are just about your customers money. Ill also make sure to spread the word to each and everyone I know that AVIS is the WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY

Do not choose this location. It may be out of the way, but choose elsewhere - you will end up there anyways. 1. Unreliable - reservations does not hold meaning here. 2. Unsafe vehicles - even if vehicles have software issues, they will give it to you without alerting you of the issue. 3. Accountability - staffs and manager are apathetic to the issues they are responsible for fixing. 4. Communication - They try to keep you in the dark even if there is a problem. *** Summary: - Showed up 8am for 8am pick up. They told me to sit & wait. - 8:30am - asked them what's going on. Told me there is no vehicle available. - Asked for a quickest solution since I am on tight schedule. - Replied with "wait until car comes in" - when asked when that would be, was told 1pm at latest (so wait in the room for 5 hours?). - When asked if they can pay for Uber to LAX or bring another vehicle from elsewhere, they rejected it. - While I was calling Avis HQ, they got a Tesla that came in, but didn't bother telling me about it, until I asked about it. - Tesla ended up having software issues with GPS, and they clearly knew about it, since they asked me "if I was going to drive far," which I was. Tesla does not let any other phones to connect GPS, which was a safety hazard. - Ended up going to LAX and switching out the vehicle, wasted more time.
