I booked a specific car on the Avis website, showed up expecting to get what I reserved, and they simply didn’t have it. On top of that, they still tried to push a different vehicle at an even higher price. The whole experience was a disappointment—misleading and unprofessional. To make it worse, the second vehicle they offered—a Ford Explorer—was extremely dirty and it reeked of marijuana. That’s unacceptable for any rental company. Cleanliness and basic standards should be non-negotiable, and this felt like they didn’t care at all. A good job means honoring your promises, respecting the customer’s time, and being transparent from the start. If you can’t provide what you advertise, you shouldn’t take reservations for it—especially not as a tactic to charge more at the counter. Renting a car is about trust and responsibility, and this brand failed on both. Don’t trust what you see online with Avis. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone—save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

I have to take a moment to recognize Kamiia at the Avis Preferred Desk in Houston because she absolutely made my day. As an Avis Preferred member, I've had plenty of rental experiences over the years, and I can genuinely say this was the best one I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, Kamiia was warm, welcoming, and incredibly kind. She made everything feel easy breezy and effortless, which is exactly what travelers hope for after a long trip. What really stood out was her attitude. She wasn't just professional—she was genuinely personable, friendly, and caring. I had a great experience with Kirsten B. at Budget. I accidentally returned my vehicle before I had the debit card I wanted to use for the final payment and was concerned that my credit card would be charged instead. Kirsten B. took the time to pull up my rental agreement, review the account, explain the authorization hold process, and update the payment method on file. She was patient, professional, and made sure I understood exactly what would happen with the pending charges and final billing. Customer service like this goes a long way. Thank you, Kirsten, for your kindness and for taking the time to help resolve my situation.

In a world where great customer service can feel rare, Anthony absolutely stood out. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about making sure I had the best possible experience. First time using the Avis First service! Constant Communication during the pickup and drop off service reduced stress immensely! Concierge (Launden) was waiting for me when I landed and walked me direct to the car. 8 minutes from exiting the airplane to driving off in the car!!! Return was just as easy. Concierge (Unique) was waiting for me when I pulled up to the drop off and I was in the airport in less than 5 minutes! Best of all, no bus ride to the rental car center! They took care of me at the terminal parking garage!! Great job Avis!
