BEWARE DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE… Worst customer service ever. Ron and Doug are completely rude how this place is still in business I have no clue.. these cars are junk, they do not maintenance them at all, there are no repairs done on these cars.. check engine light on, coolant light on, tire pressure light on.. basically every light is on in gauge cluster. They are shady as hell.. stay away from this place…

I wish I had read the reviews prior to renting. Do NOT rent here unless you like driving junk cars. Someone recommended them for renting to Rocky Point. Bad recommendation. When we first pulled onto the dirt lot, on the left side is older rental cars and on the right side is what appears to be a junkyard that they use to keep their rentals running or where they part them out when the finally die. The Uber driver says - are you SURE you want me to drop you off here?! It was sketchy looking at best. This should have been my red flag to RUN. The first two cars they asked me to choose from - one was in ROUGH condition - both bumpers held on the car with screws. Many dents. It had the front bumper broke in half and they bondo’d it and spray painted it, getting overspray all over the grill. So I went to the other unit, and it smelled like I was entering an ashtray. I chose the rough one, but once we sat in it, it also wreaked of cigarette smoke. I went back inside and asked if they had any cars that didn’t smell of cigarette smoke. He said oh sorry, we must need a new machine for smoke removal. They suggested two more cars - one was 15-20 years old and I chose the other. I had my wife give it the sniff test. It only smelled like rubber, so I guess that’s better than smoke. They hand me the key fob and it’s falling apart, splitting in two. They have all the door handle covers removed so you can lock and unlock the doors with the actual key since clearly the key fob is going to die at any moment. The left side of the front bumper is held on with screws. The right side of the fro t bumper was falling off. The left side of the rear bumper had a hole in it. The right front fender had been in an accident. Since the key fob is falling apart you have to try various positions to place the fob in the interior hoping praying and trying to get the car to start because the car doesn’t recognize the fob since it’s falling apart. The car was gross inside. Barely cleaned in some time. The steering wheel was worn out. Holes and cracks in the seats. The air pressure light was on. The car had a shake either in the front suspension or the tires. We picked the car up on Sat and on Sun it developed a shudder in the transmission. We were scheduled for Mexico on Monday. No way I am driving this car 4 hours to Mexico, around RP do 5 days, and back. When we returned the car early (Mon) - they said “no pro rata charges - you still have to pay for the week”. We went back to the airport and rented a car, not a jalopy.

Phoenix car rentals are the biggest crooks in the game. I rented a Chevy Impala from them that broke down two days before I was supposed to return it and when I called them telling them they broke down. They hung up on me. I called him the next day. They said there was another driver that was driving the car. Which wasn’t true. Saying that I have broke the rental agreement. They twist your own story. Give you unsafe cars with check engine lights, a tire light and airbag light. And a car that slams into gear I hope this place gets shut down very soon. And if they charge me any more money I hope they have a good lawyer.

Giving this place any stars is a huge compliment. ATTENTION!!!!! YOU ARE NOT THIS DESPERATE! LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. THIS PLACE IS TRASH! NONE OF THE CARS WORK BUT THE OWNER DRIVES A TESLA. HE WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU BROKE THE CAR. AND YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK. BABY IF YOU HAVE $400, GO ELSEWHERE! This place needs to be shut down. Dude you have 2.1 stars to be open for 50 years I wouldn’t brag about that. SECONDLY no one hit a curb, I called you not even 20 minutes after I got the car to tell you about the tire that blew with my 10 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER IN IT! No one messed up your cars. You just don’t work on them. But that’s ok. I can rent elsewhere. God bless love.

Have used these guys in the past pretty regularly with mixed opinions on the service. We booked another van rental way in advance to lock in our tour vehicle. PDCR couldn't keep the reservation because they wanted to cater to the bigger ticket rentals for college spring breakers. Really put us in the worst situation. Manger is grumpy and has no customer service skills. Actually even moved on to two other customers when I was trying to talk to him. Told me the van might be back on the lot in 3-5 hours. Said he would call me. He never called and judging by his lackluster attitude over the situation I wasn't surprised. Don't take reservations if you can't commit. How come PDCR couldn’t even give us a heads up that our rental was gone? Hey manager guy.... Get a job you can handle. Avis stepped up, got us a brand new 15 passenger and gave us an unbelievable discount that came in lots less than this place. Shame on you guys for that money grab you just had to have. Follow up : I’m terribly sorry. I thought this was for Phoenix Discount Car Rental on 29th St. & McDowell. The place with the already 2 star reviews. Should've known better I guess.
